2010 Year In Review!
OK, it's almost the end of December, time for...
Gmonkey's 2010 Year In Review
January
- I try Bikram yoga. It's good but I didn't keep it up.
- more seal-wrangling
- I become Student Body President
- genetics class, which I thought would be the last class I take here. But I'm going to take two classes in Spring.
February
- I start my contract job for NMFS doing database stuff
- Shou Shu!
- fabulous gumbo recipe
March
- Sylinder: The Sitcom continues and then goes on hiatus for several months
- Open House planning gets into full swing
April
- the lab's OPEN HOUSE of which I am Chair. I am super stressed out about basically being responsible for the entire thing but it's good, we have a lot of visitors and make lots of money.
May
- I submit my proposal to IACUC in what will turn into a 7-months long process of trying to get it approved before I give up and change my entire project
- I hurt my arm in Shou Shu. It gets better.
- contract job is done
June
- Sylar's scrapbook
- snake!
- mini-vacation at Esalen
- a little paid work in the genetics lab
July
- not a whole lot happens
August
- I manage to get AiA tickets for January
- finish painting the bathroom
- small boats certification!
September
- I unsuccessfully try to switch to Pristiq
- Spanish class
- I discover ZUMBA
- ROBOT UNICORN ATTACK IN THE HOLODECK
October
- It Gets Better
- 30th birthday!
- minor car accident :(
- thesis proposal!
- lab camping trip!
- MINECRAFT
- Halloween!
November
- I start a new thesis project from square one because it has become clear the seal thing isn't going to work out
December
- my final month of Student Body! After a year as Treasurer followed by a year as President, I am reeeeeeally ready to have more time for my thesis!
- my mum asks what I want for Christmas and I say "a pink pony called Bubbles!" And she gives me that.
