99. I don't want any children. - maybe. I'm undecided.
100. I love my hair.
Apparently, it's some kind of sorting thing but I just got it from
wenelda.
Since there's no 1 or 2, I'll make up my own:
1. Which character do you most closely resemble physically?
Tonks. Except my hair isn't pink.
2. Which do you prefer: MWPP-era or present-day?
MWPP. I want to know more about young Snape.
3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Probably grad school. Doing genetics.
4. Which of the characters do you most relate to?
Snape!
5. Who is your favorite character from the books?
Snape, Lupin and Hermione.
6. Who is your least favorite?
Fleur. She was a crappy champion. She came in last at everything. I hate that that was the case and she was the only girl champion. Maybe Beauxbatons just sucks.
Also Cho. But maybe I'd like her more if she weren't so one-dimensional.
7. What would you see when you look into the Mirror of Erised?
I think the point is that it shows us stuff that we wouldn't have thought of ourselves. I guess I'd see something like me being well-liked, respected and successful.
8. What would your boggart be?
Last week, it would've been one of those things from The Village. Heh.
9. Dark Magic: Tell us your thoughts. Is there such a thing? Or is magic only dark because of the motivation behind its use?
I think, in the HP universe, there are actually spells involving necromancy and whatnot that are going to be considered Dark regardless of the intent behind them. The kids learn all sorts of curses and hexes and these aren't considered Dark. I think Dark magic consists of spells and potions that automatically cause harm somehow, no matter how they're used, like by consuming souls or summoning demons or something. I don't think even the Unforgivable curses are actually Dark magic; that is, I don't think it's said in the books that they are.
10. On the same token, should the "Dark Arts" be studied directly or should Hogwarts continue to only teach the defensive magic used against them?
It depends on the nature of Dark magic. If it's as I described above then no, it would be dangerous to have the students actually doing it. Though there'd be nothing wrong with teaching them about it without actually having them perform the magic.
11. What is your favorite non-Harry Potter book? Quote something from it and tell us why you chose that line.
I can't choose just one book. And I don't have any of my books in front of me. I like the passage in Mostly Harmless where Arthur's the village sandwich maker. If I had the books in front of me, I'd probably find something from one of the Dirk Gently books.
12. You overhear some students from one House plotting something to do to a group of students in another House. Neither of the groups contain students from your House. What do you do with the information and why?
Depends what they're plotting. If it's something that could get someone hurt, I'd confront them.
13. You are sitting in your house common room when you notice that another student has left a book lying on the table. You pick it up and realize it is their personal diary. What do you do?
Depends who it is. I'd probably read a little of just the page that's open and then leave it alone.
14. Would you use an Unforgivable Curse under any circumstances?
Sure; it appears that AK is the most efficient way to kill someone, so I'd use it if I really had to kill them.
15. Do you think Harry was right or wrong to use his cloak to get to Hogsmeade in the 3rd book?
I wouldn't say it's wrong; he's just breaking the school rules and even if Sirius had been after him, he wasn't in too much danger in Hogsmeade in broad daylight. I mean, I don't think it's morally wrong, exactly. But Snape was right to tell him off for it.
16. If you could eliminate one character from the HP universe, who would you choose and why?
Fleur. She's lame.
17. What's one thing you would do if you knew you would suffer no consequences from it?
Steal as much money as I possibly could.
18. Someone has graffitied a hateful remark about your House on one of the walls in the Great Hall. Luckily for you, you overhear a conversation between House elves who witnessed the perpetrator, and you alone know who did it. What do you do?
Why wouldn't the House Elves have told the teachers already? I'd tell the teachers.
19. Snape hates Harry by proxy James and treats Harry accordingly. Play Devil’s Advocate for us and justify this.
Devil's advocate? Yeah, I guess it really isn't fair for Snape to single out Harry the way he does. OK. I justify it by pointing out that, from Snape's point of view, Harry is exactly like James and deserves Snape's ill treatment. The other teachers, especially McGonagall, favor Harry and let him get away with a lot more than the other students. Snape thinks he's just balancing things out, since he can't force the other teachers to treat Harry like everyone else.
20. What do you really think of Snape? Is he fair in the things he does?
No, he isn't fair. He's not a great teacher, although we know he is an effective teacher, because if he weren't then his students wouldn't do so well on average. Potions isn't easy; Lupin says he's not good at it and he's intelligent and hard-working. So the students couldn't just be doing well on their own. The scenes we see are the practical lessons, where they're actually brewing potions, but Snape has to be giving lectures as well, or else the students just wouldn't learn anything.
21. Do you like the idea of a school being split into four separate houses? What about school unity?
I like it; it gives the students more of a sense of belonging to a community, because the whole school population is too big for that if there weren't Houses. There would be a lot more unity if everyone didn't treat Slytherin as the black sheep.
22. Which are more important: Friends or Family?
Family. Friends come and go but you're stuck with your family.
23. Rate the following in order of importance to you, from least to greatest: family, love, fame, money, power.
power, money, family, love, fame
24. Some people think the Weasley twins are funny, while others find them mean spirited. How do you feel, and why?
I like them. It's like Harry realized when he saw Snape's memory in the Pensieve: they're not trying to hurt anyone.
25. When playing rock, paper, scissors, what do you usually deal?
It's random. The first one is, anyway. If we have more than one round then I try to guess what my opponent's going to do based on what they've done before. ...isn't that the whole point?
26. IS all fair in love and war?
No. That's stupid. That's why we have the concept of 'war crimes' and the Geneva Convention and all that.
27. Do you consider a first impression to be the only impression a person can give? Why or why not? And if we refused to sort you, what would you do?
No. Not at all. I hate it when people try to justify lookism by saying "first impressions are important." Screw that.
I don't know who's doing the sorting, so I guess I wouldn't care.
28. You've been asked to invent a new spell to be taught at Hogwarts. What is the name of the spell, what does it do, and what is the incantation?
Oh geeze. I'm not great at this. OK. It would be idioticus nonbeleaguerme and it would create an invisible barrier so stupid people can't bother me.
29. Think about a negative past experience and tell us how it affected you. What did you learn from it? If you could go back and change it now, would you?
It's not so much specific incidents with me, it's more just general misery throughout my adolescence.
30. If you happened across the Room of Requirement, what would you find?
Right this very minute? Some food. And a comfy couch.
31. What would you be willing to die for?
Freedom. I dunno.
32. If you died, would you want to come back as a ghost? Why or why not?
I think so, because I'm terrified of the idea that my consciousness will end.
33. Finally, what house do you think you belong in?
Ravenclaw, I guess. Based on the description the Hat gives. I'd need to know more about the Ravenclaw students to be able to answer with more certainty.
