gmonkey42At work. Having had the unfortunate lack of foresight to stick in a realtime PCR reaction (hey... that's redundant because the R stands for Reaction but everybody says "PCR reaction." Damn. I hate it when people say "ATM machine" or "PIN number." And here I've been saying "PCR reaction" for years.) that's going to run until 7:30. Oh well. I have internet access.
So, I saw the first part of the Emmys. I actually had no idea they were on but then I was chanel surfing, for the first time in at least a month, at about 7:45 and I came across the pre-show and I remembered Alan had been nominated. I actually went over to my computer to find out if he'd won (another advantage of being on the west coast). Because I wasn't going to sit through it if he hadn't. And he hadn't. But Al Pacino's great. Not having seen any of the performances besides part of Something The Lord Made, I thought they were probably going to give it to Mos Def, because he did do a great job and he's so new to acting. But they went completely the other way. You know, I've always thought Al and Alan looked a teeny bit like each other. Or maybe it's that Al looks a bit like some of Alan's characters. I'm thinking Hans Gruber. Maybe it's just me.
So I watched for a few minutes, and caught the shot of Alan giving what I thought was some very perfunctory applause for Al and Angels in America. Heh. I liked his tie. Much nicer than the standard tux. Shortly after they started presenting the awards, I gave up and went to sleep because I knew it'd be a long time before they did Best Actor in a Miniseries or Movie and Alan wasn't going to win anyway. Bah.

do_me_profsnape because I hadn't looked there in a while. And there were a lot of fics but mostly pairings I don't like. But then I scrolled down and saw a Snape/Lupin and I thought "yay! Snupin!" but then I saw it was a Linkin Park songfic. And I did sort of the opposite of deeface. Like, if I could type a backwards D? It was like that.
