Jul. 4th, 2004 03:15 pmWeekend update. Hung out with my friend Agnes, whom I grew up with but who lives in Kansas City now, and her sisters. That was cool. We had Korean food and did karaoke. Then when we were done, they gave us a CD us us singing. We were listening to it in the car. Oh, man, we're such dorks. Agnes' youngest sister, Nicole, sang pretty well. I love karaoke but I can't sing for crap. So we go to these places where it's a private booth so it's just you and your friends, not a whole roomfull of people. Agnes is going to burn me a copy of the CD. The bibimbap was so good. The last time I had that was years ago in Japantown and it wasn't too good. It's a pretty simple dish; I was saying I wish I could make it myself and Agnes said you can get stuff like the bean sprouts already seasoned in Asian markets and just cook them. That's awesome.
We're going to watch fireworks tonight. I wouldn't go if they weren't going. But I hardly ever see Agnes. My parents are going too. I think I'll walk over there with them. My dad wanted to walk all the way from our house but my mum didn't want to walk that far. So we're going to walk from the house where my brother lives, which is also our house but we were renting it out until recently and my parents are going to sell this place and move in where my brother is in a few months.
I saw Spiderman 2. That was pretty good. We all agreed Mary Jane is annoying. Is the thing where her top gets wet and her nipples show a running joke or what? Alfred Molina was cool; that goes without saying. The effects were good. Now I want to see the first one. I meant to say before but I forgot: in Dodgeball, the fat cheerleader joke? Not cool. Making it seem even less cool was the fact that this group of guys sitting behind us was laughing their asses off at it. They got a lot of the gay jokes that others seemed to miss; something tells me it's not for the same reason I was laughing, though. Not so much because there's a subversive angle to it, more like 'ha ha making fun of fagz is funnee.' Sigh.
I went hiking with my mum yesterday. We always go to the same place (Sunol Regional Wilderness, though 'Wilderness' isn't all that accurate) but I like it. Though it'd be nice to find other places to go. I'd like to go to Yosemite. Mum never wants to go because it's crowded. And she's not as fit as I am so we can't go as far as I'd like to sometimes. Because I'm sure you can get to non-crowded places in Yosemite if you're willing to hike further. We're going to Lake Tahoe next weekend but my mum doesn't want to go kayaking. I'll see if my dad wants to go. Hey, I could ask him right now. ... yep, he wants to go. Yay! My brother's not coming.
Dude, I was sleeping in the house where my brother is; last night he had one Hooter's Girl sleeping in his bed and Friday night she was there plus another Hooter's Girl. Geeze. You know why he's so popular with the ladies? Because he's nice to women because my mum and Iwhipped him into shape set a good example. He has a friend who's all jealous of him because of that but this friend is awkward with women to the point of it being funny but then he's so awkward that it's a little sad but then it's like "OK, it's funny again." You know? He actually wanted to bring a rose to one of these Hooter's Girls, at work, but my brother and his friends talked him out of it. I said "didn't he see that episode of South Park?" He hadn't.
