gmonkey42I saw a car with a bumper sticker that said "I yoosed to be a Yooper" along with a vanity license plate (CA) that said "EXYOOPR."
I googled it and a Yooper is someone from the part of Michican that doesn't look like a mitten. It's called the Upper Peninsula, or U.P., pronounced "yoo pee," hence "Yooper." Because You Pee-er would just be crude.
