...I need a new project. I'm going to be completely out of things to do tomorrow. I have two more things to do by about next Wednesday so I think I'll leave those till tomorrow. They're tedious and require a lot of pipetting.
I've been getting price quotes for lab supplies. The responsibility for ordering things, like the responsibility for fixing computer problems, has, by default, fallen to me. And in biotech - I don't know if it's like this in other industries - the catalog prices are all way too high and you have to contact the sales rep for price quotes for everything to get the real prices. I've got the database all set up so it's easy to keep track.
I'm working on a new thing where it'll look up the price for you but I didn't plan for that so it's going to be a bit tricky. The problem is that the primary key can't be just the item name because the item name isn't unique. The combination of company name and catalog number is unique so that's what I'm using. I'll figure it out.
