Halloween!
Oct. 31st, 2010 06:59 pmI was going to go the my friend's house to watch Three Amigos but I just read my e-mail and they decided to do it a different night. So now I am home after all and I do have some candy - not that I routinely buy myself bags of mini 3 Musketeers bars or anything >_> - but I have no decorations to signal that candy is available.
Plus my hair looks weird. But it is kind of Halloween-y. See, I dyed it black for my Elphaba costume for last night's lab party, which was super fun. It's temporary dye but it's supposed to take a month to wash out and I didn't want to wait that long so I used dye remover. Bleach, basically, but in a box that says "dye remover."
Aaaaaand it didn't work the same all over my hair. So now it's mostly orange but with black patches. It occurred to me that I look like a reverse version of my tortoiseshell cat, who is mostly black with orange patches. I got some light golden brown dye that's slightly darker than my real hair, dark enough to cover the remaining faded black. But my hair is pretty dry right now from the dye remover so I'm going to wait until tomorrow to do the new dye, to give it a chance to build up some natural oil. Anyway, the point is I don't think I'll bother getting decorations and handing out candy.
Costume pics!

The others' awesome costumes are an angel, Rainbow Brite and a PAM fluorometer. She won for Best Science Costume.
And my costume? I started sewing it Wednesday afternoon. So I'm pretty proud of getting it done by Friday evening. And the zipper is even this time! Zippers are hard.
And here's my hair today...

See? It's actually sort of cool! But it's weird. I'm going to make it more normal tomorrow.
