random lunchtime update

gmonkey42I forgot I had a big wedge of cheese in the fridge so I'm eathing that and some crackers I had in my snack drawer. I just don't feel like going out to get more food. I also have juice. It's good cheese. I got it at Trader Joe's. It's called Blarney Cheese. It says it's from Ireland.
There's a big project on stickleback fish that I'm finally getting started on. I'm extracting the DNA right now (it has to sit in the incubator for a while) and I ordered the primers today. When R. first told me about it, he said it might end up generating a paper. That would be awesome.
I have to go back to Davis early today to drop off samples for sequencing and I'm going to run some errands too. I have to call: T-Mobile to renew my account; the insurance company to see about adding car insurance to my policy, since it turns out I wasn't supposed to be on my parents' policy since I graduated but they only just told us; and Electronic Arts to see about getting a replacement Makin' Magic disk 1 because I lost mine when I moved. Dangit. It wouldn't matter so much except I never did the full install so I can't run the game without the disk. I don't know how it happened but I've looked everywhere. I hope I don't have to buy another copy. And I have to drop off some stuff at the thrift store because I finally cleaned up my living room and I'm getting rid of a few things.
I finally got in touch with the girl who was supposed to rent my spare room and she'd completely forgotten. Had no idea what I was talking about. And she's already found a place to live. Oh well. She has a cat so maybe it's just as well; I was worried that it wouldn't get along with Snape.
