Oct. 18th, 2004 08:12 amI didn't see Team America. My friend and I did have dinner on Saturday but then we were both really tired to we decided to see a matinee of it on Sunday. Then my friend ended up getting up really late on Sunday and she'd previously arranged to have dinner with some people so she invited me to that but I didn't feel like eating out so we're going to see a movie another time. It's cool, though. It's like, we're good enough friends that it's just casual like that - we get together to eat or see a movie or something most weekends so if one of us can't go or even just doesn't feel like going, it's not a big deal.
Yesterday afternoon, I went to the Halloween store. Last year, there was one in downtown Davis but this year, I went to the place where it had been and the building was actually boarded up and surrounded by a chain-link fence. Geeze. They might as well have had a big sign that said "no Halloween stuff for you!" So I went to the one in Woodland and it was in a mall and it was pretty small. There was one in Pleasanton a while back that was huge. I really just needed a white mask - I've decided to go as a Death Eater, because I already have a cape and everything and all I needed was the mask. But there were fairy wings so I had to get those too. I've never had fairy wings and these are blue and purple and sparkly so I had to get them. And some shiny purple antennae to go with them. I got the mask also. But I don't really have an appropriate fairy dress. I do have a dress I got for... some school dance. That would be good but that's really fancy. Plus the Death Eater costume would be warmer. It depends on what I end up doing for the evening. I also have a vampire dress that I could modify and be a scary fairy. That's a possibility. That would involve buying more stuff, though.
And when I was in line to pay, the guys who worked there were talking and one asked the other to cover for him because he had to go to the Haloween store in Davis to check on some stuff. So there is one in Davis! Just not in the same place as last year, I guess. Dangit.
