published!

Last year, when I worked for UC Davis, my supervisor and the professor in charge of the lab wrote an article about regional differences in macaque monkey genetics that was going to be published in the American Journal of Primatology. The journal said we could submit an image for the cover if we wanted. So I volunteered and I made a map with some little boxes showing examples of the genetic differences between the monkeys from India and China. And there was an inset photo of a monkey. And the issue just came out and it's on the cover! And they have my name on the back with the image design credit! :D Also, I helped with the research that led to the paper but I was more like an assistant so my name doesn't go on the paper.

Also: have you ever had plain cranberry juice? Man, it's bitter. I'd need to put about two pounds of sugar in it.

I got back to work at 5:20pm. I'd originally planned on returning at 3:00 but that wasn't going to happen so I called and said I'd be later but then I was waaaaay later than I thought. Curses. I stopped at the ATM in Safeway and I must have left my ATM card in the machine because it was gone a minute later when I went to pay for my prescription at the RiteAid next-door. Luckily, they have a bank branch in the Safeway so I was able to cancel my card right then. I was hoping either it would still be sitting in the ATM or someone would've turned it in to the bank clerks but no. Gosh, I like people.

I've hardly eaten anything all day. I haven't had any time. Luckily, the stuff I had to do today can be done at home on my computer. Therefore I'm outa here.
