gmonkey42OK, the week before book 7 comes out, I'm just going to avoid the internet for that whole week.
Dammit.
I didn't mind being spoiled on who dies but I've run across things... a lot of things about one character in particular... that I'd rather have been surprised about. I fully acknowledge that it's my own fault for reading spoilers. I've only heard of one (two if you count Something Awful) incident where a major spoiler was posted without a warning or cut (that is seriously not cool) and I don't think it's wrong to link to spoilers (obviously) as long as there's adequate warning. I don't agree with the C&D letters that say we shouldn't post spoilers, for the sake of kids who don't want to be spoiled. If they don't want to be spoiled, they shouldn't be participating in spoiler discussions.
I just have no willpower. What it comes down to is a desire to be part of the discussion and to say things before everyone else has already said them. I don't want to miss out. I want to be like the cool people! But some of the cool people are relatively unspoiled.
Argh.
I have meetings today so I won't have time to read more spoilers. I hope.
