gmonkey42I gave blood yesterday. So I'm a little tired and thirsty. I mean, I also went to the gym this morning. I'm not tired and thirsty just from the giving blood. Yeah. The 24 Hour Fitness in Sacramento is so much better than the one in Davis. They have a steam room, but I didn't know it'd be co-ed and you can't go in without a swim suit. And I didn't bring a swim suit. Oh well. I just did yoga today. I think I'll go up there every Sunday for the yoga class. And I can sit in the steam room. The Davis one doesn't have a steam room.
Saw RotK last night. Pretty damn good. And I had lunch with some friends. A bunch of people told me the ending was too long and drawn out. So what, it should've just ended with that fade-to-black while Frodo n Sam (OTP!) are still on that rock in all the lava on Mount Doom? Whatever.
Random observations:
Gandalf seriously kicked some ass. So did Eowyn. But why do the women always have to look scared before they lop the head off a dragon thing (yeah, they probably have a name but I'm too lazy to check) and stick a sword through a Ringwratih? Why can't she just look tough, as any male character would? Why do they still have to make that concession to the myth of female vulnerability? Oh well. She still kicked ass. I think Pippin is my favorite hobbit. I like how Gandalf persisted in calling him "fool of a Took." How come Sam could kill all those orcs but he couldn't just stab Gollum? ...aside from the fact that Frodo wouldn't have gotten rid of the ring if Gollum hadn't bitten off his finger. Er, spoiler alert. Heh. I laughed my ass off when Denethor was on fire (spoilers!) and I wasn't the only one. I think my friend Sina is a little shocked by that - I often laugh at stuff like that, where he's more like "oh, that's so sad." Like when Lucius kicked Dobby. Ooh, I want to see Peter Pan. I told my friends and they were all like
"I've already seen a bunch of Peter Pan movies" but I was like
"no! This one will be different! Jason Isaacs is Captain Hook!" *blank looks* "...the guy from The Patriot."
"...who was he in The Patriot?"
"Col. Tavington!"
"ohhh, him."
Yeah. I have a lot of conversations like that. I went on to say that Jason's the second best actor for playing villains, after Alan. And Sina said "who's Alan Rickman?" And I didn't even smack him. I think I shall go and play DDR now; with the controller, though, not with my feet. I need a little rest.
Oh, by the way, the zombie-ghosts were really freaking cool. I want to make an icon from that part right after the ring melts, where it cuts to the Eye, Gandalf, Eye, Aragorn, tower, Eye. I'd just put little captions like Gandalf: "w00t" Aragorn: "w00t" Eye: "aw, fuck." Something like that. Anybody got some illicit screencaps?
