Just saw this about the potion in the cave and Dumbledore's death.

When Dumbledore and Harry got back, Dumbledore wanted to go to Snape. Not Madam Pomfrey. Snape. He didn't want Snape to heal him, he wanted him to kill him before the effects of the potion got any worse.

I had the same idea sort of half-formed in my mind but garlandgraves solidified it.
