In other news, I read this sort of pre-review on Pandagon, and I'm amazed that Punkassblog could have so wildly misinterpreted things. You're not supposed to agree with Rorschach's right-wing bullcrap! And maybe The Comedian died for the wrong reason - although I can't help thinking Ozymandias has a point - but that doesn't change the fact that he was a scumbag.
And as for the outfits, of course the original Silk Spectre's costume was skimpy, that was the whole point of her character! The second one actually showed a lot less skin than most female superheroes, and the only reason it looked the way it did was because Laurie was still stuck following in her mother's footsteps. Anyway, Jon was the most naked superhero ever, which is progress of a sort, I guess.
...I can't believe I'm defending a movie from feminist criticism. Maybe it isn't as good as the comic - I hear they did tone down Laurie's reaction to The Comedian - but it sounds like people are missing the point entirely.
