good weekend

gmonkey42First of all, I got Friday off for Cesar Chavez Day, which was totally unexpected. So that was cool. My mum came up for a little visit. And I made oatmeal cookies. And we got Snape some little balls with bells in them and she really liked that. And, because I had the day off, I was able to go to the morning yoga class. Then on Saturday, I went to cardio kickboxing, which I haven't been to in 2 weeks because I was sick. And then I watched Wilde.
When I first heard Stephen Fry was Oscar Wilde, I admit I had my doubts, because he's inextricably linked in my mind with General Melchett. But he was amazing. As was Jude Law (I kept getting the urge to sing Hey Jude. I wonder if he gets that a lot). And Zoe Wanamaker! That's cool. I need to see more movies with her in them. ...I see on IMDB there's this fantasy miniseries with both Stephen and Zoe, along with the Dursleys and Christopher Lee, called Gormenghast. Wasn't that a book? I guess I need to see that next. Man, it must be so cool being an actor in Britain. Everybody's worked with everybody else.
I think Queer As Folk has completely spoiled me for gay sex scenes. Wilde was, in that respect, disappointingly tame. It was funny, though: in the scene where Bosie's singing, I was thinking "alright, when are they going to do it already?" and then in the very next scene, they do.
Anyway, it's a beautiful film and I recommend it.
So I watched that and had pizza and Jamba Juice. But they're out of protein boost. So I bought some soy protein powder from the Co-Op. I'll make my own damn Orange Dream Machines. But cleaning the blender is a pain in the ass.
I think I might be coming down with ANOTHER cold. This is ridiculous. I've already used up all my sick days and I have three vacation days left, I think. I'm still under a horrendous amount of stress. That should all be over by May, though. Great.
Regardless, I'm having a good weekend. It's so great when you get a day off and you weren't expecting it.
Oh, and then there's the NEXT POA TRAILER!!! IT'S FREAKIN AWESOME!!! ...one. Yes. Snape. Boggart!Snape. Lupin. Cool camera effects with Sirius in prison. Hermione punching Draco and it's not even corny. I was pissed off because playing it off the site was so slow and only showed about 1 in every 10 frames, till I figured out I can download it and then play it as many times as I want. squee. This is definitely going to be the best movie yet. Chris Columbus can suck it.
