weekend update

gmonkey42Saturday, I went to kickboxing, as usual. There was a new instructor and she didn't give us a little water break in the middle like the other one does. And she didn't seem to like the way I was doing uppercut punches. She wanted me to do them all like in Mortal Kombat (though that's not how she put it) where you duck way down and your whole body comes up as you punch. Except we had to do them so quickly that I was just bobbing ridiculously up and down. So I'm hoping the other instructor is back soon.
Mum came up to visit - we've been doing that a lot more than usual lately. Either I go home or Mum comes up here. Snapey likes it - she likes my mum. We had lunch and then hung around and I got a little whiny. That tends to happen, unfortunately. I don't mean to do it. I think it's because other people have multiple RL friends they can talk to, so no one person has to sit and listen to it all. But I don't really talk to people except my mum. Not about stuff that's bugging me.
On Sunday, I got up early and went to the gym. There was a step class but that wasn't until 10:00 and it was level 2/3 and I haven't done crap like that before. I think I'll stick with the kickboxing. Then I got highlights in my hair, for a very reasonable price. It's cool. I'd put up a picture but a) I don't have a recent 'before' picture and b) it probably wouldn't look that great on the webcam anyway. I thought about doing it myself but there's no way I would've been able to do this myself. They had this plastic cap thingy with little holes all over and pulled strands of my hair through the holes. Weiiiiiird.
Uhh, what else did I do? I played The Sims for a while. I ended up staying up too late. I made Barbie and Ken skins, because I'm weird. I can't put up the Barbie one, unfortunately, because I used a mesh that I got from a website and it specifically said not to redistribute it. And for Ken I just took the "Ross" skin (the one that's handy to use for Mulder) and made the hair blond, eyes bigger and blue and the mouth smiley. ...OK, I guess that's not so little. I also made a few floors and walls so I could make Barbie's Dream House. It has a pool shaped like a B. And I was making up this whole sinister back story, like Barbie's a famous model/singer/fashion designer and she's secretly all ruthless and she has her enemies murdered and stuff. And Ken's her dim-witted trophy husband. And he's getting on her nerves and he knows too much so she's going to kill him. I don't know if the website people would mind if I put up the Barbie family on the Exchange. Because that would be redistributing it, because people could get the skin by downloading the family. But it was one of the "freebie" ones and if I give them credit in the album... I dunno. It's not the same as if I tried to put it on my own site but it's still making it possible for people to get the skin from somewhere other than their site. Maybe I should ask them.
