My stomach's bothering me, so I'm trying to fix it by having only liquids for 24 hours. I had two glasses of V8 juice for dinner and a smoothie for breakfast. I also brought some yogurt. That counts as a liquid. Yes.

I got the Peter Pan DVD! They have this thing at the video rental store where you put money in your account and they give you a free DVD. I've done that a few times. I have about $150 in the account now. ...that's a lot of videos. I'd better stop doing the free DVD thing for a while, methinks. I'd nearly used up the money I put in to get Bowling for Columbine for free but then they had RotK (to pre-order it) and now Peter Pan. So there we are.

In the Bonus Features, there's a thing where Jason Isaacs had a video camera all through the shoot and it's just clips from that. He's so adorable. I watched that last night but it was pretty late so I started watching the movie this morning but I had to go to work so it only got up to the part where the kids are going to Neverland. And now here I am at work. Not watching Peter Pan.

I also saw Kill Bill. The action was OK. The fight scene with the 88... people - whatever - was a little boring. It went on too long. And I strongly object to the continued practice of screenwriters to justify women committing acts of violence by having it be revenge for rape (though here it was also revenge for other things). Why is that? The Punisher didn't have to be put in a position where he was repeatedly raped for him to be allowed to go around killing people. Wasn't trying to kill her at her wedding, and successfully killing her fiancee and friends and, as far as she knows, causing her to miscarry sufficient cause for her to exact (ludicrously) bloody vengance? Did they really have to throw in the bit with those fuckers at the hospital? It added nothing to the story. Except titillation for horny losers who don't respect women and whose asses I should track down and kick.

But I have to watch volume 2 because I need to know why they wanted to kill her in the first place.

I also don't like how they get these skinny-ass women (except Lucy Liu. I heard she really is a martial artist, which is cool) and hook 'em up to wires so they can look like they're doing what people like Jackie Chan can do without wires, and get a fight choreographer to train them so they know how to wave a blade around and make it look good and then be like "OK! These are the top female (have to have that qualifier. Everyone knows women can't be as good at killing people as men. Because we were sitting in the cave getting fat watching Oprah all day while the men-folk were out stabbing tigers) assassins in the world." It particularly got me when The Bride was trying to pull herself into a sitting position in the truck. My biceps are bigger than hers. I know she was meant to have been in a coma but they were like that throughout the whole movie. This is Hollywood's image of a strong woman. Of a woman with exceptional martial arts abilities. Yet she managed to learn to do all that without developing any unsightly muscles.

Sarah Connor in Terminator 2 could kick all their asses. She could do pullups. I'll bet Uma Thurman would have to have wires if her character had to do any pullups.

Edit: Oh, also? I dreamed I went with my brother to see PoA. And we were waiting and trying to get decent seats and everything and we were waaaaay in the back and the place was overrun with, like, 13-year-olds. And finally the movie started and it began with... a musical number. It was OK at first but it just kept going on and on and on. And finally it stopped and then the trio was talking amongst themselves but the song was still playing in the background. And at that point, I was so bored that I had no choice but to wake up. Also my alarm clock went off. And I knocked over a glass of water to turn it off. D'oh!
