gmonkey42No, just kidding, I haven't seen it yet. I was in bed last night at about 11:20 thinking "I could still see it at midnight. When I checked this afternoon, there were still tickets. I'll bet I could see it if I get up right now." But I didn't. Because I'm going to see it tonight and I didn't want to have to drive home from Sac at 2:00AM and be all tired all day and be completely dead when I go to see it tonight with my friends.
Today, we're going to take a trip to see the new lab we're moving to in August. It's in Richmond. Which will be cool because there seems to be more of a fandom scene in the Bay Area than here (for those who don't know, Richmond is just north of San Francisco). (For those of you who do know, don't worry - it's in the nicer part of Richmond, near Berkeley). I'm going to continue living up here and commute via Amtrak. Because I couldn't afford a decent place in the Bay Area and I'd probably wind up living with my parents, which would totally suck ass.
When I told my mum I'd take Amtrak, instead of my previous plan, which was to live with them and take BART, she said she was so relieved that I wasn't going to take BART. And all along, my family's been throwing a fit about me working in Richmond. Geeze. I'm not a kid. People ride BART all the time and the majority of them don't get murdered. I've taken self-defense classes. I'm a martial artist. I'm alert. I'm fit. I'm not a likely candidate for mugging. But no, all my family sees is that I'm female and therefore I can't take care of myself. Pfft.
