- damn, Gary was perfect. I had my doubts, I admit, because he looks nothing like how I pictured Sirius but he's so perfect. Can't wait to see him in the next two flicks. And David. But I didn't really have doubts about him. The mustache wasn't even all that offputting. I noticed it in the Boggart scene (very nice. Snape-in-a-dress, that is, not the mustache) but after that I didn't notice it so much.
- someone said in their journal "OK, how gay was Remus?" or words to that effect and I was looking for it and I didn't really see it. I mean, of course he could be but he didn't come off as, like, super gay or anything. Still, two excellent canon!slashy moments. Would've liked to see more interaction between Snape and Lupin, obviously. But I can understand them having to leave out the Wolfsbane potion, except for that one reference to it right before he transformed. Which, since Sirius brought it up, implies that he'd had the potion all along, before Sirius went to prison. Minor point, easily ignored in future films if necessary.
- as with the first two films, still disappointed by the lack of Snape. Where was the screaming fit in the Hospital wing? After the abbreviated (though really freaking cool) Shrieking Shack scene, I was looking forward to Snape in the Hospital Wing. And he was there - you could see him when Harry and Hermione were going back in time. But no screaming fit. And no explanation of how Snape got there - unless it was just obvious that he'd followed Lupin
- Buckbeak flying = awesome
- Draco being a little pussy throughout the entire movie = really, really awesome
- the fact that Buckbeak ate ferrets...
- end credits were cool. I liked how they did the Marauder's Map in the movie too. It was hard even to picture how that would work.
- Hermione was great; during the whole time turner sequence I was thinking how this makes up for the omissions in the first movie.
- odd how they made Snape nicer, not only by having him throw himself, wandless, in front of the kids like that but also not making it clear that it was he who let slip (heh heh) Lupin's condition. Perhaps they did that partly for balance because they'd left out the fact that Snape made the potion for him every month.
- it's been ages since I read it but wasn't there not a prophecy in book 3? I thought there was just the one in book 4. Because Dumbledore said that's a total of two Trelawney got right and this would make it three. Emma was great, by the way. Even better than I expected. 'specially the bit with her and Hermione.
- WHY DID THEY MISSPELL "MOONY?" WHYYYYY?!
- the dementors were really scary. And I don't care that Lupin looked like a huge, hairless rat, he was still scary with his limbs all long like that. Hermione should've known better than to try to reason with him.

Also, a total of three people commented on my Free Lucius shirt. That makes it all worthwhile.

OK, going to sleep now.
